Introduction

We understand that the retention of information in a clinical setting can be variable and limited for patients, and therefore quality information leaflets hold significant importance. Our DermNet patient information sheets are specially designed printable leaflets that cover essential information on a skin condition.

Information is written in clear, simple, empathetic language by healthcare professionals and DermNet medical writers. As with all DermNet content, these patient handouts are always finalised and approved by a dermatologist.

What format do the info sheets come in?

The patient info sheets are digital and can be downloaded from the DermNet PRO dashboard.

They can be printed or emailed to patients and are laid out in a trifold format typically consisting of two pages which can be printed individually or on a double-sided sheet.

What information do the handouts contain?

  • Condition name, synonyms, what it looks like, feels like, severity and location
  • An introduction of the condition
  • A variety of images that feature various aspects and presentations of the condition
  • Causes, features, complications, diagnosis, treatment, and outcome as appropriate
  • Links to the public dermnetnz.org condition page and a QR code to quickly and easily access this.
  • A logos and leaflet details area - this area allows you to personalise the handouts by including your clinic/organisation's logo and/or contact details.

Who can access them?

These handouts are exclusively accessible via DermNet PRO, thereby limited to healthcare professionals. By offering this resource to your patients, you provide access to a reliable tool that is uniquely available to you and your professional peers.

They come at no additional cost, but will be an invaluable reference for your patients.

Let us know in the comments if this is something you would use in your practice.
