Which of these four feet shows tinea?

Answers:

A = This is allergic contact dermatitis – symmetrical and bilateral, affecting the soles. It was due to allergy to azo dyes present on the insole for his shoes.

B = This is bullous tinea pedis – some dermatophyte fungi can be severe enough to produce blistering, especially Trichophyton mentagrophytes

C = This is palmoplantar pustular psoriasis pustular psoriasis – note the pustules and the conspicuous rusty red dots typical of this condition.

D = This is plaque psoriasis of the soles – note the well-defined edge. Full skin examination may show typical psoriasis elsewhere (elbows, knees, scalp, nails).

If there is even the slightest suspicion of tinea, take scrapings!
